Friday C-3A Dance

Mike Jacobs was the featured caller for the May Trailblazers 25th Anniversay weekend. At this session Mike presented a good dance featuring interesting applications of concepts: 

(1) from outfacing lines with the boys as the right-hand couples -- Own The Boys, Link Up by Shakedown

(2) from parallel single file columns with boys as #3 and #4 in the columns -- Own The Boys, Tandem Reach Out by Circulate

(3) from 3&1 lines with infacing centers -- Own The Centers, Square The Bases by The Gamut

(4) from 3&1 lines with ends with right hands toward the center and with outfacing centers -- Funny Scatter Circulate

(5) from a formation formed from a double pass thru butterfly and having the center beaus Press Out & U-Turn Back -- Split Phantom Lines Do Your Part Ferris Wheel

(6) from right-hand split phantom waves with all dancers in the outermost waves -- Split Phantom Waves 1/4 Thru

(7) from a formation formed from parallel two-faced lines and having the leads Press Ahead and then all dancers Quarter In -- Split Phantom Lines Square The Bases

(8) from a completed double pass thru "O" -- Split Phantom Lines Tandem Here Comes The Judge

(14) from a tidal two-faced lines with boys as the the very ends and with alternating sexes -- Initially Boys, Disconnected Spin Chain The Line

Saturday A-2 Workshop

Since our anniversary attracted dancers who were new to Trailblazers to this session, Mike kept things relatively simple, but still managed to get in some interesting calls: 

(1) from various formations -- Single Wheel

(2) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having either the right-hand or left-hand couple dancers Quarter In -- Split Square Chain Thru

(3) from parallel ocean waves -- Peel & Trail

(4) from parallel two-faced lines -- Peel Off

(5) from a left-hand ocean wave -- Turn & Deal

(6) from parallel inverted lines -- Any Hand 1/4 Thru

(7) from parallel inverted lines -- Any Hand Remake

(8) from a formation formed from a squared set and having all the dancers Quarter Left -- All 8 Peel & Trail

(9) from 3&1 lines with ends with right hands toward the center and with infacing centers -- Coordinate

Saturday A-2 Dance

At this session Mike used some of the material from the afternoon session and added some other interesting material:

(3) from parallel ocean waves -- Each Box Do The Centers Part Of Cast A Shadow

(4) from 3&1 lines with ends with right hands toward the center and with infacing centers -- Motivate But Centers Replace 1st Cast Off 3/4 With Single Wheel & Roll

(5) from 3&1 lines with ends with right hands toward the center and with outfacing centers -- Motivate But Centers Replace 1st Cast Off 3/4 With Pass The Sea & Roll

(6) from parallel two-faced lines -- Motivate But Centers Replace 1st Cast Off 3/4 With Peel & Trail

(7) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- Motivate But Centers Replace First Cast Off 3/4 With Peel The Top

Sunday C-1 dance

This was primarily a dance session.  Some of the more challenging calls involved call modifications or unusual positioning: 

(1) from infacing lines -- Coordinate

(2) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having everyone Split Circulate & Roll -- Coordinate

(3) from right-hand or left-hand two-faced lines -- Tally Ho

(4) from an "I" consisting of outfacing outside couples and a center left-hand wave -- Plenty

(5) from a formation formed from an eight chain through and having everyone Rotary Spin & the original beaus Roll -- Tally Ho

(6) from a completed double pass thru "O" -- "O" Concentric Partner Tag

(7) from parallel ocean waves -- Stretch Fan The Top

(8) from interlocked diamonds with all outfacing points -- Centers Work As Couples, All Regroup

(9) from parallel 3&1 lines with centers with a right-hand hold and with outfacing ends -- Centers Work In Tandem, All Regroup

(10) from same-hand twin diamonds -- PointsWork Tandem Throughout, Very Centers Start Swing The Fractions

(11) from a tidal wave with boys as the ends of each wave -- Relay The Shadow But Boys Interrupt After Cast Off 3/4 With Walk & Dodge

(12) from an eight chain thru -- Pass The Axle, Interrupt Before The Last Part With Acey Deucey & Spread

(13) from a 1/4 Tag -- Scoot & Plenty, Interrupt Before The Split Circulates With Percolate

Sunday C-2 Dance

This was was also primarily a dance session.  Some of the more interesting calls included: 

(1) from parallel 3&1 lines with the centers in mini-waves and with outfacing ends -- Dodge Regroup

(2) from parallel inverted lines with infacing ends -- Split Trade Perk Up

(3) from facing twin diamonds -- Exchange The Diamonds 3/4

(4) from facing couples -- Shazam (dancers must step to a right-hand wave before executing the call)

(5) from parallel inverted lines with infacing ends -- Ends Start Grand Chain 8

(6) from a stagger double pass thru -- Stagger Grand Chain 8

(7) from a tidal column with all dancers facing out -- Stretched Column Tandem Right Roll To A Wave

(8) from parallelogram right-hand single file columns with the #3 and #4 dancers in the center box -- Parallelogram Stack The Line

(9) from parallelogram right-hand single file columns with the #3 and #4 dancers in the center box -- Parallelogram Hocus Pocus

(10) from parallelogram two-faced lines with the leaders in the center box -- Parallelogram Grand Cross Trade & Wheel
