At this session Todd presented an interesting mix of calls from unfamiliar positions and challenging applications of concepts: (1) from parallelogram single-file columns with #1 & #2 in each column in the center box -- Parallelogram Reach Out (2) from a tidal column with all dancers facing out -- Cross Concentric Single Turn To A Line (3) from a 1/4 box -- Stable File To A Line (4) from infacing lines -- Ends Stable, All Beau Hop (5) from outfacing lines -- Split Phantom Lines Swap The Top (6) from a tidal wave -- Once Removed Wheel & Spread (7) from a tidal wave with girls as the very ends and with alternating sexes -- Once Removed Do Your Part Girls Kick Off (8) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having the trailing end Face Out -- Initially Centers, Motivate (9) from a double pass thru -- Initially Tandem Catch 2 (10) from a tidal inverted line -- Initially Cross Concentric, Flip Back (11) from a tidal wave -- Initially 1/2 Crazy, Mix (12) from a tidal wave -- Initially Stable, 1/4 Mix (13) from a tidal wave -- Initially Grand, Mix (14) from a double pass thru -- Initially Cross Concentric, Finally Tandem, Circle To A Wave (15) from infacing lines -- Finally Stable, Catch 2 (16) from outfacing lines -- Finally Triple Box, Wheel The Ocean (17) from parallel ocean waves -- Finally Triple Box, 2/3 Recycle (18) from parallel ocean waves -- Finally Checkerboard, Swing The Fractions (19) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having the belles Face In -- Own The Column Dancers, Something New by Follow Thru (20) from parallel single file columns
with girls as #1 and #2 -- Own The Girls, Invert The Column 1/2 by Scoot
& Fancy
Todd primarily worked with calls that can be fractionalized: (1) from a right-hand tidal wave -- Load The Boat (2) from twin diamonds with a center right-hand wave and all infacing points -- Load The Boat (3) from a formation formed from outfacing lines and having the centers Quarter Right -- Crossfire (centers end in a single 3/4 tag) (4) from parallel single file columns with the centers having opposite handholds from the centers -- Those Facing Start Pass The Ocean (5) from parallel single file columns with the centers having opposite handholds from the centers -- Those Facing Start Pass & Roll (6) from a formation formed from a double pass thru with girls as beaus and having the girls Right Roll To A Wave -- Boys Start Peel & Trail (7) from parallel ocean waves with boys as the outfacing ends and adjacent centers -- Boys Start Relay The Deucey (8) from parallel inverted lines or from parallel single file columns with the centers having opposite handholds from the centers -- Those Facing Start Right & Left Thru (9) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- Skip The First Part, Remake (10) from outfacing lines -- Skip The First Part, Load The Boat (11) from parallel ocean waves -- Skip The First Part, Motivate (12) from parallel ocean waves -- Skip The First Part, Relay The Deucey (13) from parallel ocean waves -- Skip The First Part, Spin Chain & Exchange The Gears (14) from parallel ocean waves -- Skip The First Part, Recycle (15) from outfacing lines -- Reverse Order, Right & Left Thru (16) from parallel ocean waves -- Reverse Order, Spin The Top (17) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- Reverse Order, 1/4 Thru (18) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- Reverse Order, Remake (19) from parallel ocean waves -- Reverse Order, Scoot & Weave (20) from parallel two-faced lines -- Reverse Order, Diamond Chain Thru (21) from an eight chain thru -- Reverse Order, Pass The Ocean (22) from an ocean wave -- Reverse Order,
Trade The Wave (joke: the 1st part is Take A Peek)
Todd used some of the calls and ideas from the workshop session, but also include a few more interesting calls: (1) from twin diamonds -- Acey Deucey (2) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having the infacing ends and the adjacent centers Single Wheel -- Spin The Top (3) from a right-hand mini-wave static square -- All 8 Spin Chain Thru (4) from a right-hand mini-wave static square -- All 8 Trail Off (5) from a squared set -- All 4 Couples Box The Gnat (6) from parallel ocean waves -- Spin
Chain The Gears, Interrupt After Turning The Stars 1/2 With The Center
Wave Mix And The Others U-Turn Back
This was was primarily a dance session. Some of the more interesting calls Todd used involved concepts or call modifications: (1) from parallel inverted lines with infacing ends -- Tally Ho (2) from parallel inverted lines with outfacing ends -- Percolate (3) from an asymmetic formation formed from outfacing lines facing side walls and having the dancers in the near box Cast Off 3/4 -- (Working The Circulates In Phantom) Percolate (4) from a 3/4 box with standard outside couples and the centers in right-hand mini-waves with the boys facing the center of the set -- Ramble (5) from an "I" consisting of outfacing outside couples and a center left-hand wave -- Plenty (6) from a standard right-hand 1/4 tag -- Scoot & Plenty But Replace The Split Circulates With Lockit And Just The Boys Finish The Call (7) from a trade by -- Finish Cross Chain & Roll (8) from a tidal wave -- Concentric Slip & Slide (9) from a tidal two-faced line -- Concentric Switch The Line (10) from outfacing lines -- Concentric Vertical 1/2 Tag (11) from parallel ocean waves -- Stretch Linear Cycle (12) from a formation formed from parallel single columns and having the leads in each split box Face In -- Do Your Part, Stretch Zing (13) from triple boxes with four dancers in the center box and the other as ends of a 2x6 -- Triple Box Flutter Wheel (14) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having the infacing ends and adjacents centers Hinge -- Phantom Relay The Top (15) from a formation formed from outfacing lines with the boys as centers and having the left couples Cast Off 1/4 -- Phantom Twist The Line (16) from a formation formed from parallel
right-hand ocean waves and having the outfacing ends and adjacent centers
Circulate as the others Hinge -- Phantom Remake
This was also primarily a dance session. Some of the more challenging calls included: (1) from outfacing lines -- Cross & Wheel (2) from magic columns -- Grand Single Cross & Wheel (3) from magic columns -- Magic Invert The Column 1/4 (4) from triple boxes with four dancers in the center box and the other as ends of a 2x6 -- Triple Box Catch 3 (5) from a tag formation with the outside mini-waves and the center wave having the same handhold -- Triple Wave 2/3 Recycle (6) from parallel infacing lines -- 3/4 Crazy Square Thru 3 To A Wave (7) from any parallelogram lines -- Parallelogram Counter Rotate (8) from infacing lines -- Once Removed Single Circle To A Wave (9) from parallel ocean waves -- Once Removed Right Roll To A Wave (10) from outfacing lines -- Once Removed Vertical 3/4 Tag The Line (11) from any tidal line -- Once Removed Once Removed Single Wheel (12) from a tidal inverted line with the very ends with inside right hands -- Once Removed Here Comes The Judge (13) from a tidal wave -- Once Removed Wheel & Spread (14) from a tidal wave -- Once Removed
