Barry concentrated on working with calls that can be fractionalized in halves: (1) from parallel ocean waves -- 1/2 Spin Chain Thru (2) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- 1/2 Remake (3) from a facing diamond with right-hand centers -- 1/2 Remake (4) from parallel ocean waves, parallel single-file columns, or a completed double pass thru -- 1/2 Zoom (5) from a couple -- 1/2 Wheel Around (6) from an ocean wave -- 1/2 Mix (7) from a thar -- All Eight 1/2 Mix (8) from a 1/4 tag -- 1/2 Scoot Chain Thru (9) from infacing lines -- 1/2 Load The Boat (10) from outfacing lines with the boys as the right-hand couples -- As Couples 1/2 Boys Rollaway (11) from parallel inverted lines with outfacing ends -- Do the Last 1/2 of a Zoom (12) from outfacing lines -- Do the Last 1/2 of Load The Boat Later Barry introduced the higher-level "Sandwich Concept" where one call is inserted between the first and last half of another call. However, rather than using that name, he used wording that would be appropriate for our A-2 dancers. Since there is no recommended way to word "Interrupt" calls, different callers word these calls in different manners. Unfortunately, some of the dancers had problems processing some of the calls in the way Barry presented them. After a couple of tips with this concept, one of the dancers suggested a different way to word these calls so that they would be easier for more dancers to process. Barry agreed that this might be a better way.
