Ben Rubright started the new year for Trailblazers. At this dance session, he presented a good dance with interesting applications of concepts: (1) from split phantom right-hand ocean waves with all the dancers in the outermost waves -- Split Phantom Waves 1/4 Mix. (2) from a formation formed from parallel two-faced lines and having the centers Counter Rotate -- Own The Centers, Reach Out by Follow Thru. (3) from a formation formed from a double pass thru and having the centers Touch 1/4 -- Own The Centers, Drift Apart by Circle To A Wave. (4) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having the centers Counter Rotate -- Own The Ends, Flip Back by Walk Out To A Wave. (5) from a double pass thru -- Initially Cross Concentric, Spin Chain The Line. (6) from a 3/4 box -- Initially Centers, Scoot & Counter. (7) from parallel ocean waves -- Initially Checkerbox, Catch Mix 3. (8) from a formation formed from parallel right-hand two-faced lines and having everyone 1/2 Press Back -- Initially Triple Lines, Tag Back To A Wave. (9) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having the ends slide out one position -- Initially Triple Boxes, Catch Mix 3. (10) from a double pass thru -- Initially Centers, Catch Scoot The Diamond 3. (11) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having the ends Face In -- Initially Centers, Catch Follow Thru 2. (12) from a completed double pass thru -- Initially Beaus Stable, Turn To A Line Motivate. (13) from a left-hand tidal line -- Finally Once Removed, 1/4 Wheel The Sea. (14) from an eight chain thru with sashayed couples as centers and normal couples as ends -- Finally Girls, Catch Inlet 3. (15) from a tidal wave with boys as
the very ends and with boys as ends of the center wave of 4 -- Finally
Boys, Flip Your Neighbor.
Ben presented our dancers with a challenging program. First, he reviewed replacing the last Cast Off 3/4 of a call with another call (to save space, most will be presented here in abbreviated form): (1) from parallel ocean waves -- Relay The Deucey But (Replace The Last Cast Off 3/4 With) Mix. (2) from parallel ocean waves -- Spin Chain The Gears But Mix. (3) from parallel ocean waves -- Spin Chain The Gears But Switch To A Diamond. (4) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- Motivate But Turn & Deal. (5) from a right-hand 1/4 Tag - - Chain Reaction But Turn & Deal. (6) from twin diamonds -- Diamond Chain Thru But Spin The Top.
