Friday C-3A Dance

Lee Kopman was the featured caller for the December weekend. At this session, some of the more interesting material included: 

(1) from parallel ocean waves -- Finish 3/4 The Deucey.

(2) from parallel ocean waves -- Initially Checkerboard Mix.

(3) from outfacing lines -- Own The Ends, Snap The Lock by Partner Trade & Roll.

(4) from twin diamonds -- Own The Points, Strip The Diamond by Counter.

(5) from parallel 3&1 lines with the heads as couples with their right hands to the center and with sides in right-hand mini-waves -- Own The Heads, Percolate by Split Circulate and Hocus Pocus.

(6) from parallel single-file columns with girls as #1 & #2 in the columns -- Own The Girls, Invert The Column by Trade & Roll

(7) from parallel ocean waves - - Own The Leaders, Follow Your Leader by Beau Hop.

(8) from outfacing lines -- Split Phantom Lines Catch 2.

(9) from parallel ocean waves -- Split Phantom Waves Exchange The Boxes 3/4.

(10) from a formation formed from parallel 3&1 lines with outfacing centers and the ends with their right hands to the center and having the centers Press Right -- In Split Phantom Columns Centers Walk & Dodge, Ends Circulate 2.

(11) sequence: from a formation formed from parallel right-hand ocean waves and having the ends Peel Off -- Inside Tandem-Based Triangles Wheel The Sea; Outside Tandem- Based Triangles Wheel The Ocean.

Saturday A-2 Workshop

Lee workshopped quite a few simple applications of higher-level calls and concepts. He introduced Squeeze, Right/Left Loop 1, 3 By 1 Cut/Flip The Diamond, Galaxy
Circulate, Butterfly Circulate, O Circulate, Wave-Based Triangle Circulate, and several simple calls using the Triple Boxes concept. Also from a formation consisting of a center line of 6 dancers and two lonesome dancers as points of a center diamond,
Lee used the terms "Very Center Diamond", "Middle Diamond" and "Outer Diamond" to refer to the diamonds formed using the lonesome points and the designated dancers in the center line of 6.

Other calls used during this session included: 

(1) from a formation formed from a left-hand 3/4 tag and having the very centers and the outside beaus Run -- Centers Work As Couples, All Any-Hand Grand 1/4 Thru.

(2) from parallel 3&1 lines with infacing ends and with center right-hand mini-waves -- Coordinate.

(3) from parallel two-faced lines -- Motivate But Turn The Star 1/4.

(4) from a formation formed from outfacing lines with boys as the left-hand couples and having the girls Quarter Out -- Do Your Part, Boys Crossover Circulate Twice, Girls Split Circulate & Roll.

(5) from a formation formed from parallel two-faced lines with the boys facing in and having the girls Face In -- Do Your Part, Boys Crossover Circulate Twice, Girls Checkmate The Column.

Saturday A-2 Dance

Lee used some of the calls from the workshop session, but also included additional interesting material:

(1) from a facing diamond with right-hand centers -- 1/4 Thru or 3/4 Thru.

(2) from columns with the ends in right-hand mini-waves and the centers in left-hand mini-waves -- Those Facing Start Pass & Roll.

(3) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having the centers Counter Rotate -- Cast A Shadow.

(4) from a formation formed from parallel single-file columns with boys as #3 and #4 in the columns and having the boys 1/2 Zoom -- Girls Start Peel The Top.

(5) from parallel left-hand ocean waves -- (Do The Parts) In Reverse Order 1/4 Thru.

(6) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- (Do The Parts) In Reverse Order Remake.

(7) from a formation formed from facing lines with the boys as the right-hand couples and having the boys Single Wheel -- Do Your Part, Girls Inroll Circulate, Boys Column Circulate.

(8) from a formation formed from facing lines with boys as beaus and girls as belles and having the girls Face Out -- All Do Your Part, Acey Deucey & The Girls Roll.

Sunday C-1 dance

This was primarily a dance session. Some of the more interesting calls Lee used included:

(1) from parallel ocean waves with the girls facing out -- Percolate, Girls Twice.

(2) from a formation formed from outfacing lines and having the centers Face Out -- Regroup, Centers Twice.

(3) from a tidal wave -- Concentric Linear Cycle.

(4) from parallel ocean waves -- Concentric Zing.

(5) from infacing lines -- Square The Bases, Replace Split Square Thru 2 with Split Square Thru 4.

(6) from infacing lines -- Square The Bases, Replace Split Square Thru 2 with Split Square Chain Thru and Replace Trade By with The Axle.

(7) from a formation formed from parallel inverted lines with infacing ends and having the right-hand miniwaves Hinge -- (Start Phantom) Tally Ho.

(8) from a formation formed from a 1/4 tag with original partners facing each other on a Jay and having the centers Slip and Spin The Top and having the ends 1/4 Out -- With Your Original Partner Jay Partner Trade & Roll.

(9) from a formation formed from a completed double pass thru with girls as belles and having the girls Zig Zag -- Do Your Part, Girls Linear Cycle, Boys Trade & Roll

(10) from parallel right-hand two-faced lines -- Do Your Part, Leaders Percolate, Trailers Circulate and Left Shakedown.

Sunday C-2 Dance

This was also primarily a dance session.  Some of the more challenging calls included: 

(1) from parallel single-file columns -- Magic File To A Wave.

(2) from a tidal wave -- Swing Along But Add An Extra Circulate.

(3) from same-hand twin diamonds -- Exchange The Diamonds Once & 1/4.

(4) from facing twin diamonds -- Exchange The Diamonds.

(5) from a tandem-based triangle -- Tandem-Based Triangle Wheel The Ocean or Wheel The Sea.
