The level started out being fairly simple, but gradually increased in difficulty to become quite challenging: (1) from parallel left-hand ocean waves -- Bias Motivate (2) from magic columns -- Breaker 3 (3) from parallel two-faced lines with boys as the ends -- Fascinating Girls Kick Off (4) from parallel single-file columns with girls as #1 & #3 -- Own The Girls, Wind The Bobbin & Spread by Reverse Swap The Top (note: girls end in a center box of 4) (5) from a formation formed from a right-hand 1/4 tag and having the Centers Hinge -- Own The Centers, Left Swing Thru by Touch 1/4 (6) from outfacing lines -- Own The Beaus Regroup by Trip The Set (7) from parallel single-file columns with girls as #1 & #2 -- Own The Girls Invert The Column 1/2 by Recoil (8) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having the Beaus Face In -- Once Removed Square Chain Thru To A Wave (9) from a left-hand tidal wave -- Once Removed Rims Trade Centers Kick Off (10) from parallel single-file columns -- Finally Once Removed, Scoot & Weave (11) from parallel ocean waves -- Split Phantom Waves Ease Off (12) from a stagger trade by -- Split Phantom Waves Exchange The Boxes 3/4 (13) from a magic "O" with left-hand ends -- Split Phantom Waves Criss Cross The Shadow (14) from parallel two-faced lines -- Split Phantom Lines Keep Busy (15) from parallel two-faced lines --
Split Phantom Lines Cross Trade & Wheel
Saundra taught the C-1 concepts "Tandem" (dancers in single-file columns of 2 work as one dancer) and "Siamese" (four dancers work As Couples and four dancers work In Tamdem) concepts. Some of the calls she used with these concept included the following: Pass Thru, Pass The Ocean, Pass The Sea, Touch 1/4, Mix, Explode The Wave, Swing Thru (from right or left hand waves in the appropriate concept formation), Scoot & Dodge, Scoot & Weave (from the appropriate box or single 1/4 tag formation), Recycle (from the appropriate ocean wave), Linear Cycle, Dixie Style To A Wave, 1/4 Thru, Switch The Wave, Switch To A Diamond, Flip The Diamond, Cut The Diamond, Fan The Top (from appropriate facing couples). Saundra also presented some interesting applications of Plus and Advanced calls: (1) from a left-hand 1/4 tag -- Ping Pong Circulate (2) from a right-hand tidal wave -- Load The Boat (3) from a formation formed from a completed double pass thru and having the Belles Quarter In -- Transfer & Wheel & Deal (4) from a formation formed from outfacing lines and having the Ends Bend -- All Swap Around (5) from parallel two-faced lines -- Motivate (6) from a formation formed from parallel single-file columns and having the #1 dancers Face In -- Motivate (7) from 3-and-1 lines with infacing centers and right-hand ends -- Motivate But Replace The First Cast Off 3/4 With Single Wheel & Roll (8) from a formation formed from parallel
single-file columns and having Everyone Circulate 1/2 -- Center 6 Scoot
& Weave (finish the Scoot Back before executing the Weave)
Saundra used some calls from the afternoon session but also added other interesting calls: (1) from parallel single-file columns -- Peel Off Twice or Trail Off Twice (2) from parallel ocean waves -- Inroll Circulate 1 & 1/2 or Outroll Circulate 1 & 1/2 (3) from a double pass thru or completed double pass thru -- Checkmate The Column (4) from facing twin diamonds -- Crossfire (5) from a T-bone box formed from a same-hand box and having the Trailers Quarter In -- Peel The Top or 1/2 Scoot Back (6) from a formation formed from infacing lines with boys as the left-hand couples and having the Boys Single Wheel -- Boys Start Peel & Trail (7) from a formation formed from parallel
single-file columns and having Everyone 1/2 Circulate and the #1 Dancers
in the new center columns of 3 Run -- Those Facing Start Chain Reaction
This session provided a good exercise in testing the dancers' proficiency with a wide range of concepts and modifiers: (1) from a same-hand diamond -- Step & Fold (2) from a 1/4 tag -- Cross Extend (3) from a T-bone box formed from a same-hand box and having the Trailers Quarter In -- Cross Your Neighbor (4) from parallel single-file columns -- Concentric Peel Off or Concentric Trail Off (5) from phantom ocean waves consisting of same-hand mini-waves -- Phantom Alter The Wave (6) from a formation formed from magic columns and having Everyone Magic Column Ciruclate 1 & 1/2 -- Finish Chain Reaction (7) from a formation formed from parallel two-faced lines and having the Centers Counter Rotate -- Concentric Zing (8) from a formation formed from parallel two-faced lines and having the Centers Counter Rotate -- Do The First Part Concentric, Motivate (9) from a right-hand 1/4 tag -- Scoot & Plenty, Interrupt After The Box Circulates With Flip The Line (10) from an "I" formation consisting of either a right-hand or left-hand center wave between outfacing couples -- Plenty (11) from a right-hand hourglass -- Plenty (12) sequence: from a tidal wave -- (a) All Cross Roll To A Line -- (b) Center 4 Cross Roll To A Wave -- (c) All Cross Roll To A Line -- (d) Center 4 Cross Roll To A Wave
This session proved to be difficult for many of the dancers, especially since Saundra is a user of concepts: (1) from a tidal wave -- Split Counter Motivate (2) from a double pass thru -- Stretched Box Split Swap Around (3) from parallel left-hand ocean waves -- Stack The Line (4) from outfacing lines -- Cross Concentric Shakedown (5) from parallel right-hand ocean waves -- Vertical Dixie Diamond (6) from parallelogram ocean waves with the outermost ends facing in -- Parallelogram Single Cross Trade & Wheel (7) from parallelogram single-file columns -- Parallelogram Scoot Back, Parallelogram Walk Out To A Wave, or Parallelogram 3 & 1 Transfer The Column (8) from a tidal two-faced line -- Once Removed Rims Trade Shazam (9) from parallel two-faced lines --
Once Removed Peel Off or Once Removed Trail Off
