Ross presented a challenging mix of calls and concepts: (1) from a formation formed parallel single-file columns and having the #1 dancers Face In -- Motivate (2) from parallel ocean waves -- 1/4 The Deucey But Turn The Star 3/4 (3) from parallel inverted lines with infacing ends -- Single Checkmate (4) from same-hand 3 by 1 triangles with the columns of 3 in the center -- Exchange The 3 By 1 Triangles (5) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having the centers Pass In -- Plan Ahead (6) from parallel left-hand ocean waves: Turn To A Liner's Choice (7) from an infacing lines parallelogram with the outermost dancers as beaus -- Parallelogram Plan Ahead (8) from parallel ocean waves -- Stable Reach Out (9) from parallel inverted lines with outfacing ends -- Checkerbox Reverse Swap Around (10) from parallel ocean waves -- Once Removed Peel To A Diamond (11) from a tandem single 1/4 tag -- Once Removed Scoot The Diamond (12) from a completed double pass thru -- Once Removed Single Wheel (13) from an "I" consisting of a center right-hand ocean wave and outside right-hand mini-waves -- Own The Centers, Switch The Wave by Follow Thru (14) from an infacing lines parallelogram with the outermost dancers as beaus -- Initially Triple Box, Catch 3er's Perk Up Of particular interest were two sequences of calls that caused major problems on the floor, yet they contained no C-3A calls or concepts: (1) from an infacing lines parallelogram with the outermost dancers as beaus -- (a) Parallelogram Grand Chain 8 -- (b) Offset Columns Rotary 2/3 Recycle -- (c) Offset Waves Scatter Scoot (2) from a 3-and-1 lines parallelogram consisting of a center right-hand box and two outside outfacing couples with the outermost dancers as belles -- (a) Triple Box Cross Back -- (b) Parallelogram Once Removed Funny Circulate 2 -- (c) Parallelogram Concentric Zing
At this session Ross taught the C-2 call "Peel To A Diamond" (definition: Leaders Peel Off; Trailers Extend & Hinge) and used it sparingly from right/left-hand boxes and a completed double pass thru. For most of the session, Ross concentrated on using Advanced calls from unusual positions: (1) from outfacing lines with same-sex centers -- Finish Half Breed Thru (2) from twin diamonds with a center right-hand ocean wave and outfacing points -- Ends Bend (3) from a left-hand 1/4 tag -- Ping Pong Circulate (4) from an "I" consisting of a center right-hand ocean wave and two outfacing couples -- Horseshoe Turn (5) from various T-bone formations -- Split/Box Circulate (6) from a formation formed from infacing lines and having the centers Pass Out -- All Reverse Swap Around (7) from a formation formed from outfacing lines and having the centers Partner Trade & Roll -- All Chase Right (8) from a T-bone box with two diagonally opposite leaders and two diagonally opposite trailers -- Peel & Trail (9) from a facing diamond -- Crossfire (10) from parallel single-file columns -- Transfer & Box Counter Rotate (11) from a formation formed from a completed double pass thru and having the beaus Peel Off & Roll -- Transfer & Peel & Trail (12) from a formation formed from parallel single-file columns and having everyone 1/2 Column Circulate -- Center 6 Scoot & Weave (13) from a formation formed from parallel
right-hand single file columns and having everyone 1/2 Column Circulate
and then the first 2 dancers in the new center columns U-Turn Back -- Those

Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Ross used unusual positioning and modifications to present a dance that was interesting and challenging, but still allowed the dancers to execute most of it successfully: (1) from a sashayed static square -- Head Men Center, Tea Cup Chain (2) from a static square -- All 8 Quarter In/Out (3) from any twin diamonds or galaxy - Acey Deucey (4) from a 3/4 Box (parallel columns with outfacing ends and a center right-hand box) -- Acey Deucey (5) from a non-tidal formation consisting of left-hand ocean wave parallel to and between two parallel right-hand mini-waves -- Left Spin The Windmill Right (6) from a right-hand tidal wave -- Load the Boat (7) from a right-hand tidal wave -- Centers Spin The Windmill, Ends Load The Boat (8) from parallel 3-and-1 lines with infacing centers and the ends with right hands to the center -- Motivate but Replace the first Cast Off 3/4 with Single Wheel & Roll (9) from parallel two-faced lines -- Motivate but Replace the first Cast Off 3/4 with Follow Your Neighbor (10) from a formation formed from parallel single-file columns and having the #3 dancers Face In -- Transfer & Peel & Trail (11) from a formation formed from parallel

This session proved to be difficult for many of the dancers as Ross presented material using unusual combinations of calls and concepts: (1) from outfacing lines -- Belles Start Crossover Motivate (2) from parallel ocean waves -- 1/2 The "K" (3) from parallel inverted lines with infacing ends -- Split Trade Perk Up (4) from a tidal formation consisting of a center right-hand wave of girls splitting a right-hand two-faced line of boys -- Boys Trade Along (5) from parallelogram outfacing lines with the right-hand couples in the center box -- All Right Loop 0 (Zero) (6) from parallelogram single-file columns with the #1 & #2 dancers in the center box -- Parallelogram Split Recycle (7) from parallelogram single-file columns with the #1 & #2 dancers in the center box -- Parallelogram 3 By 1 Transfer The Column (8) from a triple wave formation formed from parallel right-hand ocean waves and having everyone 1/2 Press Ahead -- Triple Wave Swap The Wave (9) from infacing lines -- 3/4 Crazy Square Thru 3 To A Wave (10) from parallel ocean waves -- 1/2 Crazy Counter Rotate 1/2 (11) from parallel single-file columns -- 1/2 Crazy Split Recycle (12) from a tidal two-faced line -- Once Removed Cross Roll To A Wave (13) from outfacing lines -- Once Removed Circulate 1 & 1/2 (14) from a tidal wave -- Once Removed
