This session was a challenging presentation of concepts: (1) from parallel two-faced lines -- Cross Concentric Recoil (2) from a tidal wave -- Initially Stable Spin Chain The Line (3) from a completed double pass thru -- Once Removed Rotate 1/2 (4) from parallel two-faced lines -- Once Removed Couple Up (5) from a double pass thru -- Once Removed Swap The Top (6) from a formation formed from parallel ocean waves and having everyone Press Ahead and U-Turn Back -- Split Phantom Columns Something New (7) from parallel ocean waves -- Split Phantom Waves Scoot & Weave (many dancers tried to execute the Weave prematurely) (8) from totally offset same-hand boxes with the outermost dancers facing in -- Split Phantom Waves Relay The Top (9) from a formation formed from totally offset right-hand boxes with the outermost dancers facing in and having everyone Split Phantom Columns Circulate -- Split Phantom Columns Grand Remake (10) from a formation formed from right-hand columns and having everyone Split Phantom Columns Split Circulate -- Split Phantom Waves Left 3/4 Thru (11) from a formation formed from a right hand tidal line with boys on the end of each line of four and having the very end boys Run -- Once Removed Rims Trade Boys Kick Off. Saundra also presented a sequence that
was so difficult that no one was successful in executing it even after
several attempts: from triple right-hand waves with the dancers on all
the end spots and the very center two spots -- Triple Lines Working Forward,
Locker's Choice; Triple Box Reach Out; Triple Waves Swap The Wave; Split
Phantom Boxes Any Hand Turn Thru. I checked out this sequence at
home and verified that it does work. The final formation is facing
lines.

combinations of Zig & Zag
Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Saundra continued reviewing calls used in the afternoon, but added some more: (1) from various T-bones -- Split Counter Rotate (2) from a formation formed from facing lines and having the centers Extend -- Grand Swing Thru (3) from crossed single double pass thrus -- All 8 Dixie Style (4) from a Thar -- All 8 Mix (5) from a tidal two-faced line -- As
Couples Recycle
Saundra called a good exercise in concepts and positioning: (1) from parallel ocean waves -- Stretch Step & Fold (2) from a tandem single 1/4 tag -- Tandem Scoot & Weave (3) from a right-hand 1/4 tag -- Concentric Pass The Ocean (4) from twin diamonds with all the points facing out -- Regroup (5) from a facing diamond -- Crossfire (6) from infacing lines, a trade by, a double pass thru, parallel single file columns, a 1/4 tag, interlocked diamonds, and various 2 by 4 T-bones -- All 8 Counter Rotate (7) from a left-hand 1/4 tag -- Right Plenty (8) from a same-hand diamond -- Step & Fold (9) from a right-hand hourglass -- Little
Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Because there were some newer C-2 dancers at this dance session, Saundra chose to concentrate on calls and concepts that often prove quite challenging to newer dancers. Much of the material she presented also proved to be unfamiliar to many of the more experienced dancers: (1) from parallel single-file columns -- all do your part of Girls Kick Off (2) from a trade by -- Finish Chain The Square (3) from a T-bone box -- Criss Cross Your Neighbor (4) from magic columns -- Cross Concentric Peel & Trail (5) from outfacing lines -- Rotate 1/4 and Rotate 1/2 (6) from a formation formed from a completed double pass thru and having the outsides Press Ahead -- Triple Box Rotate 1/2 (7) from a tidal column with all the dancers facing the center of the set -- Once Removed Right Roll To A Wave (8) from a double pass thru -- Once Removed Pass The Ocean (9) from parallel single-file columns -- Once Removed Peel & Trail (10) from parallel single-file columns -- Once Removed Follow Thru (11) from a right-hand tidal wave: Once
