Friday C-3A Dance

Vic presented a challenging mix of various concepts:

(1) from two Z's formed from left-hand two-faced line and doing a Step & Slide -- 1/2 Crazy Peel & Trail

(2) from outfacing lines with the girls as the left-hand couple and boys as the right-hand couple -- Own the Boys Snap the Lock by Scatter Circulate

(3) from a 2x4 formation with boys as facing couples as centers of columns and the girls as ends of lines with their left hands in -- Own the Boys Single File Recycle by Lockit

(4) from an interlocked block formation formed from outfacing lines with boys as the left-hand couple and girls as the right-hand couple and having the beaus Press Ahead and then the girls Quarter Left -- Split Phantom Lines Once Removed Circulate

(5) from a formation formed from magic columns with right-hand ends and having the centers Trail to a Diamond -- very centers start Cross Concentric Any Hand Remake

(6) from totally offset facing couples with all the beaus on the main diagonal  -- Split Phantom Lines Relay the Shadow

(7) from totally offset right-hand boxes with all the trailers on the main diagonal -- Split Phantom Columns Tandem Remake

(8) from two L's formed from the previous formation and doing a Split Phantom Column Circulate -- Split Phantom Columns Walk Out to a Wave the Gamut.

Of course, Vic included some asymmetrics:

(1) from twin diamonds with one right-handed and one left-handed diamond -- passing right shoulders Unwrap the Diamonds

(2) from parallel right-hand ocean waves with a box of boys and a box of girls -- Own the Boys 1/4 the Deucey by 2/3 Recycle

(3) from asymmetric parallel left-hand two-faced lines consisting of one box of boy and one box of girls and having the centers Box Circulate -- Own the Girls Cast a Shadow by Keep Busy.

Saturday A-2 Workshop

Vic taught several higher level calls that are completely based on Advanced calls or lower:

(1) Shadow (Formation) (Anything): from a formation consisting of two tandems as ends and the designated 4-dancer formation as the center -- Ends do the ends part of Cast a Shadow but do not Spread, centers do the "Anything" call. .  (Example: from parallel left-hand waves or right-hand two-faced lines: Shadow Box 1/4 Thru.)

(2) Cycle & (Anything): from parallel 3&1 lines or a tidal 3&1 line -- dancers in the mini-waves do their part of Recycle, the other dancers do their part of the "Anything" call.  (Examples: from parallel 3&1 lines with the couples facing in -- Cycle & Swap Around and Cycle & Mini-Busy.)

(3) Scoot Reaction: from parallel ocean waves -- Scoot Back omitting the final extend; all Chain Reaction.

(4) Transaction: from parallel columns -- Transfer & Cast Off 3/4; all Chain Reaction.

(5) Criss Cross Clover & (Anything):  From any formation from which a Clover & (Anything) call can be executed -- Out-Facing Couples Cross Cloverleaf and Half Sashay as Others (move in, if necessary,  and) do the "anything" call.

Saturday A-2 Dance

The dance session was not quite so mind-boggling.  Although Vic didn't use any of the workshop calls and stuck to the A-2 list, it still wasn't easy.  One two-call sequence that started from a tidal line caught many dancers out of  postion: As Couple Belles Run; Belles Run.  And, of course, it wouldn't be a Ceder dance without a few asymmetric sequences thrown in for fun.

Sunday C-1 Dance

Vic used a nice mixture of calls and concepts.  Some of the more interesting call involving concepts included:

(1) from parallel ocean waves -- Stretch Fan the Top

(2) from an eight chain thru formation -- Stretch Pass the Ocean

(3) from a tidal wave -- Stretch Ah So

(4) from a tidal two-faced line -- Stretch Crossfire

(5) from a tidal double pass thru -- Stretch Dixie Sashay

(6) from phantom right-hand waves with the real dancers in right-hand mini-waves with the ends facing in -- Phantom Split Transfer

(7) from phantom right-hand waves with the real dancers facing in -- in phantom waves Tally Ho

Sunday C-2 Dance

This session  was primarily  a dance.  Two of the more interesting calls Vic used were:

(1) from parallel left-hand ocean waves -- Once Removed Belles Kick Off

(2)  from parallel 3-and-1 lines with the ends facing out and the centers in left-hand mini-waves -- 1/2 Crazy Fan the Top.
