A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Anne presented a nice mix of calls and concepts. Some of her more interesting material included from a tidal wave, Finally Tandem Flip Back; from an 'O' double pass thru formation, Split Phantom Lines Crossover Circulate; from right-hand columns, Own the first two in the columns, Invert the Column by Cross Back; and from parallel two-faced lines, Own the Ends, Switch to a Diamond by Drift Apart. One combination of calls proved to be quite difficult, requiring a second try for many and some even required a walk-through after the tip was over: from a right-hand magic butterfly formation: Split Phantom Waves Rims Trade Back, Split Phantom Waves Left Swing the Fractions. Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Anne workshopped several modifications to Chain Reaction: Chain Reaction but don't turn the star and Chain Reaction but replace the last Cast Off 3/4 with a specified call. Some of the specified calls were Single Hinge, Swing Thru, Left Swing Thru, Mix, Trade the Wave and Fan the Top. She also workshopped Split Counter Rotate from formations consisting of facing couples or back-to-back couples. Since many callers only call Split Counter Rotate from right-/left-hand waves and columns, many of the dancers found this workshop helpful for a better understanding of the call. Anne ended the session with some review of the workshop material as well as presenting some interesting asymmetric sequences. Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Anne continued to sprinkle in some asymmetric sequences during the evening. Anne gave the dancers quite a workout with the Belle/Beau concept. Some dancers had problems with Coordinate from 3-and-1 lines, so she did a quick workshop on that call. One call that seemed to momentarily disorient many dancers was a Dixie Grand from a magic column formation.. Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance Anne presented a nice combination workshop and dance session. She covered several Interlocked Block calls. Other calls included from two-faced lines, Motivate; from various parallel lines, Zing; from two-faced and infacing lines, Tally Ho; and from tandem-based triangles, Peel & Trail. She also tried a Left Rotary Spin with limited success; that Left Courtesy Turn is a real killer! Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance This session was primarily a dance without much workshopping. One call that I found particularly interesting was from a stagger trade by formation with the outside belle on the main diagonal, all work with the phantom on your left, As Couples Beaus Run. The result was right-hand columns. Top | A-2 Workshop | A-2 Dance | C-1 Dance | C-2 Dance | C-3A Dance | Page updated: Aug 16, 2004 |
