Friday C-3A Dance

Lee came well-prepared for the C-3A with a lot of interesting material.  Some of the calls are fairly easy to describe: from a tidal wave, Once Removed Slip & Slide; and from parallel ocean waves, Split Phantom Column Once Removed Circulate.  However, most of the material requires more space to describe the unusual starting the formations than the actual calls: from 3-and-1 lines with the ends facing in and the centers holding right hands, Sets in Motion the Pulley; from a 2x8 formation consisting of two phantom right-hand tidal lines with the real dancers at the very ends and once removed from the very ends, all Right Loop 1; from a formation formed after the leaders in parallel left-hand ocean waves Quarter Left, 1/2 Crazy Couple Up; from a formation formed after the centers of right-hand point-to-point diamonds Quarter Out, Checkpoint Regroup by Explode; and from a formation formed from a right-hand tidal wave with boys as the centers and girls at the ends after the centers of each wave Step Thru and just the two boys that did the Step Thru Quarter Left, Checkpoint Regroup by Single Wheel and all the girls Roll.

Saturday A-2 Workshop

Lee managed to cram a large amount of teaching into a limited amount of time and still get the majority of the dancers through the material successfully.  Calls he taught included Right/Left Loop 1, Triple Boxes, 3 by 1 Cut/Flip the Diamond (with the 3 dancers all facing the same direction), Center/Middle/Outside Diamonds, Criss Cross the Shadow, Shadow the Column.  He also cued Chase Chain Thru.  Some interesting "do your part" combinations included from outfacing lines with girls as right-hand couples, girls Chase Right as the boys Tag the Line Zig-Zag; and from 3-and-1 lines with the centers facing in and the ends with their right hands to the center of the line, Couple Dancers Ferris Wheel as the Other Dancers Recycle.

Saturday A-2 Dance

The session was not quite so intense, but Lee continued to introduce higher-level material.  He taught Galaxy Circulate, "O" Circulate, and Butterfly Circulate.  He called Chain Reaction from a left 1/4 tag formation and Motivate but Turn the Star 1/4 from parallel two-faced lines.  He also cued Concentric Recycle from a tidal wave and Concentric Wheel & Deal from a tidal two-faced line.

Sunday C-1 Dance

Lee kept the dancers session busy by teaching Diamond Swing the Fractions, Sets in Motion, Right/Left Loop 1, and 3 by 1 Cut/Flip the Diamond (with the 3 dancers not all facing the same direction).  One excellent combination call he used at this session was from parallel right-hand ocean waves with boys facing in and girls facing out, Do Your Part Boys Scoot & Weave as the Girls Percolate.

Sunday C-2 Dance

Lee only introduced one new call at this session - Grand Mix.  Since we had several newer C-2 dancers, this was more than enough to challenge for the floor.
