Calls & Concepts - December 2008
.
Featuring: Todd Fellegy |-bio

Todd workshopped Anyone Start sequences.  These can also be thought of as
Someone Skip the First Part and all do the remainder of the call.  Some examples:

- From lines with the centers facing and ends facing out, Centers start a Right and
Left Thru, or Centers start a Pass the Ocean.

- From Lines with the Ends facing and the Centers facing Out, Ends start a Load the Boat.

- From Ocean waves with the Boys together, Boys start Swing Thru or Spin the
Top.  Girls start a Swing and Mix.  Girls start a Spin Chain and Exchange the Gears don't Turn the Star.  That took about 3 minutes to complete.

As callers know, it's more difficult to Skip a part than to do the whole call.  Todd joked that it takes a longer time to execute a call that you eliminate a part than to do the whole call.

Looked a little bit at Any Hand Calls:

- From Inverted lines, Any Hand Swing Thru

- Any Hand Remake

- Any Hand Turn Thru

A couple of other calls that made dancers think was to call calls from a tidal wave that normally start with Lines facing:  Load the Boat or Square Chain Thru.  The one that really got the floor was Cross Trail Thru.  Todd also called from a Column, Pass and Roll which made them stutter a bit.

On Saturday evening Todd called 6 Couple C2 Tips; it was either that or have dancers keep jumping in and out of the square.  The floor really seemed to enjoy that.  With Here Comes The Judge, the Judge was out of breath by the time he got to the other end of the line.
