Kathy Cresup

During some of the breaks at the Trailblazers 25th Anniversary weekend, I took the opportunity to recognize some of the members who helped give the club character in its formative years.  One such member was Kathy Cresap who could find a way to present just about any serious subject in a humorous manner.  She contributed several cartoons and articles to the Trailblazer in its early years.  Unfortunately, most of today's members never got to know her because she passed away from an inoperable brain tumor.  However, I felt that an appropriate way to share her creativity was to put together presentations from some of her last articles published  in 1986.

Several members came up to me afterwards and recommended that I share these presentations with the entire club and other readers by printing them in the newsletter.  I will honor those requests in this issue and the next.  In doing so, I hope that it will remind our members that although we do take our square dancing seriously, it is also a fun activity and there can be a humorous side.  Perhaps, it will also inspire some of you to come up with a lighthearted contribution of your own.
